The new secondary school in Ceranova adopts a courtyard layout with two longitudinal pavilions housing administrative and civic functions. Centrally located, the project establishes an entrance from Via Giacomo Leopardi, creating a separate paved public space for the civic wing. Positioned centrally in relation to current sports facilities on the western border and the senior center on the eastern edge.
The complex comprises two figures: along the main road, expressive volumes topped by metal roofs distribute entrances for various users. The transparent street-facing surface opens to the civic pavilion with an auditorium and library. Roofs alluding to the agricultural identity open to an intimate courtyard for educational activities. A smaller courtyard on the western edge separates the administrative pavilion from the laboratory block.
Distinct accesses for school and civic populations offer varied possibilities. The large courtyard connects roofs, constituting a covered walkway along Via Leopardi. This threshold allows control during school hours and connects library, auditorium, or canteen. Another access from Via Leopardi, at the eastern edge, connects to the library and school from a green area between the school and the senior center.
Internally, the large courtyard features windows with wooden pillars. Two prominent metal roofs above internal courtyards serve as landmarks visible from the surroundings, emphasizing the public building's image. The courtyards, along with the square, create interchangeable and permeable open spaces with porticoes and large entrances.
